  1. Limitations

Placed upon us by others

expectation to work

labor

from our fathers, other brothers, and mothers

limited to

sports and entertainment

like that’s all we can do

i think not

black boys scared

to try something new

Responsibility our

Burden

college won’t suffice

missing out

Socioeconomic

costs

too much a price

  1. Vulnerability

Needed

To find this new way

But

Black boy feels

Like a penguin in desert

College

Opening up

can lead to new hurt

No black man

to show them it's okay

Lack of a model

Leads to elusion

on that rocket

Full throttle

No support, no preparation

Compared to their counterpart

No denying the gap

  1. College

Could be

Black boys new revival

Opportunity

To showcase

All

Of our talents

Black boys interested

In law

engineering

medicine

Even exploring new planets

New access

To community

of

Black boys

Embodying

Togetherness

Lets push

the Black boy

Showcase gentleness

and tenderness

Mobility

and versatility

Showcase

that the Black boy is more

Black boy

has no ceiling

We’re way

Above floor
